It was another great day weather wise for the 68th annual NVC Golf Tournament held at the Foster Golf Course in Tukwila, Washington. The tournament started with the traditional drive of a golf ball to honor and remember all the past Nisei Veterans who are no longer with us.  The honor of the drive was performed by Bryan Takeuchi, US Marine Corp Veteran and first Sansei NVC Commander.

PUYALLUP REMEMBRANCE GALLERY OPENS TO THE PUBLIC

The ‘Puyallup Assembly Center’ Remembrance Gallery opened to the public on August 30th, the first day of the Washington State Fair. It will continue for most weekdays and Saturdays while the Fair is ongoing. The Gallery is located under the historical Grandstand at the fairgrounds in a space donated by the Washington State Fair.

NISEI LUNCH SEPTEMBER: LOCO MOCO EXPLAINED

The September Nisei Lunch featured a favorite Hawaiian dish, “Loco Moco”.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with this Hawaiian favorite, Keith Yamaguchi provides a description of the dish and a brief history lesson.

GYM LIGHTS GET A LIFT

During the past 6 years, 6 of the LED lights stopped working.  The lights were under warranty, but the warranty only covered the cost of the new light bulbs.  To replace the lights, a vertical lift was rented, and Chris Sketchley volunteered to operate the lift.
