He is our last of three children, and it was sad but exciting as he embarks on his new adventure to be filled with so many experiences.
At 18 years old, his excitement and apprehension made me reflect on what our ancestors must have felt as they embarked on their quite different journeys of armed service or removal to detention camps. How different it must have been to not have a choice and to not know where you are going.
I could not help but feel so grateful for his opportunity, as well as mine, and how our situations are so very different because of those that paved the way. In our busy lives it is easy to get wrapped up in the stresses of day-to-day issues that tend to seem overwhelmingly important. It is easy to lose perspective.
I encourage you to take a moment and reflect.
Reflection and perspective are why the NVC and Foundation are so valuable.
