On October 18, 2024, just prior to the 80 Anniversary celebration of the Liberation of Bruyères, Mayor Denis Masy and Carl Williams cut the ribbon on the temporary museum in honor of the 100th/442nd Regimental Combat Team and the French Resistance who aided them. The Nisei Museum has borrowed limited space in the Henri Mathieu Musee, a historic building that was once a Jewish synagogue.

NVC FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2025 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The NVC and NVC Foundation Scholarship Program will award up to four (4) $3,000 higher education scholarships and one (1) $2,000 scholarship in May 2025. Student’s may apply to multiple scholarships, however, only one scholarship will be awarded per student.

OBITUARY: TOSHIKO AKAGI OKAMOTO

Toshiko passed away peacefully at Nikkei Manor in Seattle, WA, at age 101. She was predeceased by Tosh, her beloved husband of 68 years, her parents Sadako and Tokio Akagi, and sisters Masako and Michiko. Toshiko (“Toshi”) was born and raised in Seattle.  She and Tosh owned and managed several apartment buildings.
