Approximately 6 years ago, the mercury vapor lights in the NVC gym were replaced with LED light fixtures.  The new LED lighting system allowed for brighter lighting, better efficiency and eliminated electrical interference with our audio system during events in the gym.  The LED lights work immediately, rather than waiting 5 to 10 minutes for the old mercury vapor lights.

However, during the past 6 years, 6 of the LED lights stopped working.  The lights were under warranty, but the warranty only covered the cost of the new light bulbs.  To replace the lights, a vertical lift was rented, and Chris Sketchley volunteered to operate the lift. 

The most difficult part of the bulb replacement was maneuvering the electrical lift up the narrow handicap ramp into the NVC entrance.  The actual replacement of the six bulbs required less than an hour.  With the lift in place, Chris also did some dusting of the upper levels of the gym. 

Thanks to Chris Sketchley, the gym is now back to full illumination for our gym users.
