After completing his 3-year appointment to Seattle, Japanese Consul General Hisao Inagaki was recalled to Japan for a new diplomatic assignment. Consul General Inagaki and his wife Yuki were well received by the community and government officials. They always made a special effort to attend the NVC and Foundation events.
The NVC and NVC Foundation Scholarship Program will award five (5) $3,000 higher education scholarships and one (1) $2,000 scholarship in April 2024. Student’s may apply to multiple scholarships however, only one scholarship will be awarded per student.
The Mark Shigihara Memorial Scholarship commemorates a Seattle sansei who prioritized the joy and wellness of his family and community. Scholarship eligibility applies to students who are currently enrolled in the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.
