A big welcome to incoming NVCF President Shawn Brinsfield! Shawn worked with me, Walt Tanimoto, and Dean Hoshizaki on the special committee about COVID protocols for the Hall, and it will be an absolute pleasure to engage with him in his new role at the Foundation.
Every weekend in May from 10 am to 5 pm, there will be an exceptional photo exhibit about the impact COVID had on the Chinatown International District exhibit at the NVC Memorial Hall. This partnership with the “Eye of the Tiger” committee started when Ron Choi, project manager, approached me at the 2021 COVID vaccination project we hosted at the Hall in partnership with Friends of Little Saigon. I’ve seen the museum-quality display boards and stunning photographs – you won’t be disappointed, so come on down!
Save Monday, May 29th for our 78th Annual Memorial Day Service at Lake View Cemetery, Seattle. This year’s distinguished speaker is Ms. Erika Moritsugu, Deputy Assistant to the President and Asian American and Pacific Islander Senior Liaison. The ceremony starts at 10 am and ends at 11 am. Bob Kiga is again serving as the committee chair. Thanks Bob!!!
Lastly, please keep our troops, members of the diplomatic corps, and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
