The March Nisei Lunch highlighted the culinary skills of a new volunteer chef to the lunch program. The program is pleased to welcome Jim Shinbo to the Nisei Lunch family. Jim is a retired Executive Chef with an impressive background in the food industry. Jim’s credentials include training at Seattle Central Community College’s culinary school. Jim has owned and operated a restaurant in the Seattle Wallingford area as well.
Jim’s inaugural meal for the Nisei Lunch included yakisoba, teriyaki chicken, rice, tsukemono, green salad, fruit cup, and cherry cheesecake dessert (the dessert was provided by Carla Mizuta). As you can see, the menu was varied and very delicious.
The Nisei Lunch is looking forward to Jim’s participation with the program as an occasional chef.
