Seattle native Kerry Taniguchi, beloved Chinatown-ID (CID) Santa and perennial customer at the front counter of Tai Tung Restaurant, died in his sleep at his Renton home earlier this month at the age of 67. Taniguchi was a familiar presence on the streets of Chinatown. He was a diminutive figure with a long-wispy gray beard, wide-brimmed bucket cap, shades and pocketed vest.

Save-the-Date for our Chow Mein Dinner 2022 and Baked Goods Sale on Sunday, June 12th at the NVC Memorial Hall in Seattle. Meals and Baked Goods will be Take-Out only this year.

NVC FOUNDATION HOMEMADE PIES & BAKED GOODS SALES – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This year we plan to make 140 pies using Matsue Watanabe’s Apple Pie recipe. As in the past, all proceeds will go toward the NVC / NVC Foundation Scholarship Fund. Volunteers are needed to help with our apple pie crew. No previous experience needed. Click to learn more.

SAVE-THE-DATE: NVC MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM

Our annual NVC Memorial Day Program will be held live at Lake View Cemetery on Capitol Hill, just north of Volunteer Park in Seattle. The Program runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am PT. Please plan to attend and pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our country.
